VAPA Foundation

This camp is open to all students currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade at a San Diego Unified School District school. A valid student ID number is required for final enrollment.

About this Camp:

This is a 2-part sampler course where each day, students will get to try out a variety of new art forms!

Part 1: Dance Sampler offers students the opportunity to experience a range of dance styles over the course of the week. Each day we'll focus on a different style like ballet, hip hop, or jazz. Each class will have a warm up, time to learn some technique, and a fun phrase to show off at home. Students will be standing and moving around the room for 90 minutes. Movers of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Part 2: Photo Transformations (Photo Editing & Manipulation)
Discover the power of photo editing to transform and manipulate images and create stunning visuals. In this hands-on camp, you will discover the fascinating world of photo editing and photo manipulation. Learn how to transform ordinary images into stunning visual stories using digital tools and techniques. No prior experience necessary - just bring your imagination and a desire to create.

• This 1-week camp runs everyday, Monday-Friday from June 23 to June 27.
• Student check in will be from 9:00am-9:15am, and student pick up will be from 11:45am-12:00pm.
• Camp instruction will be from 9:15am-11:45pm, with one half of the time being Dance Sampler, and the other half of the time being Photo Transformations.

This camp is a collaboration of VAPA Foundation, Malashock Dance, Outside the Lens and SDUSD.
