VAPA Foundation

This camp is open to all students currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade at a San Diego Unified School District school. A valid student ID number is required for final enrollment.

About this Camp:

This is a 2-part sampler course where each day, students will get to try out a variety of new art forms!

Part 1: Dance Sampler Dance Sampler offers students the opportunity to experience a range of dance styles over the course of the week. Each day we'll focus on a different style like ballet, hip hop, or jazz. Each class will have a warm up, time to learn some technique, and a fun phrase to show off at home. Students will be standing and moving around the room for 90 minutes. Movers of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Part 2: Mixed Media Snapshots
Capture amazing photos, and transform them into unique pieces of artwork with the use of mixed media! Learn exciting new artistic techniques that add a new dimension to your photographic work! No prior experience necessary - just a passion for art and creating!

• This 1-week camp runs everyday, Monday-Friday from June 9 to June 13.
• Student check in will be from 9:00am-9:15am, and student pick up will be from 11:45am-12:00pm.
• Camp instruction will be from 9:15am-11:45pm, with one half of the time being Dance Sampler, and the other half of the time being Mixed Media Snapshots.

This camp is a collaboration of VAPA Foundation, Malashock Dance, Outside the Lens and SDUSD.
