Ukulele, Guitar, and Creativity Camp at CPMA Middle School (Continuing Player Level)

This Ukelele and Guitar camp for Continuing Guitar/Uke Players is open to all students currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade at a San Diego Unified School District school. A valid student ID number is required for final enrollment.
About our Program:
If you can play guitar or ukulele, even just a couple of chords, this camp is for you! Whether you know a little or even a lot, there’s room here for everyone. Your kind, experienced teacher will teach songs, chords, bass lines, scales, and riffs to enrich your playing, and you will be able to jam, and play complementary musical parts together. You are welcome to bring your own instruments, or borrow ours each day. Also please bring a Chromebook, smartphone, or a laptop for taking notes and using some great music apps!
While all students are welcome to sign up, please note that the activities involve listening skills, focus, patience, cooperation, collaboration, and full participation. Physically, being able to sit in a chair, hold, and strum an instrument, and successfully move and bend the individual fingers on one hand. Reading and writing are also involved as students will be learning and creating lyrics, chord charts, and tablature or musical notation. If physical or visual accommodations are needed, please indicate this when you enroll. If you are unsure of your child's ability to safely and comfortably engage in these activities, please contact us in advance so we can help determine whether this camp will be a good fit or discuss possible accommodations.
